The Oil Comes From the Crushed Places

There is a truth woven into every story of transformation: the most powerful anointing, wisdom, and purpose often emerge from the places we would have never chosen. Just as pure oil is released from olives only when they are crushed, the deep work God produces in our lives often comes from seasons of pressure, breaking, and surrender.

We love the idea of growth without discomfort — breakthroughs without battles, purpose without pain. But the reality is this: the oil never comes from the easy places. It comes from the crushed places.

In Scripture, oil represents anointing, healing, consecration, and empowerment. It symbolizes what God places on our lives to accomplish the assignment we are called to. Yet oil isn’t produced on the mountaintops. It is pressed out in the valleys.

  • When life feels heavy…
  • When dreams are delayed…
  • When prayers seem unanswered…
  • When you feel unseen or misunderstood…

These are not wasted seasons. These are pressing places.

God doesn’t crush you to destroy you — He crushes what cannot go with you into the next season.
He presses out fear, pride, self-reliance, doubt, old identity, and the belief that you are alone.

In the crushing, God is extracting the oil of purpose.

Think of the moments that have shaped you the most. Were they the effortless ones? Or the ones where you had to fight, pray, surrender, and rise again? The seasons where you didn’t think you’d make it, yet somehow you did — changed, refined, stronger, softer, wiser.

When Jesus faced Gethsemane — the “place of crushing” — He was pressed so deeply that His sweat became like drops of blood. But from that crushing came the greatest redemption the world would ever know. The crushing was not the end of the story — it was the beginning of destiny.

And so it is with you.

Your crushing seasons are not evidence that God has abandoned you; they are the evidence that He is working deeply within you. He is producing something precious and powerful — something that can only be extracted under pressure.

Oil that heals others.
Oil that breaks yokes.
Oil that carries authority and compassion.

You may feel pressed, but you are not destroyed.
You may feel stretched, but you are being strengthened.
You may feel broken, but God is releasing the oil.

So if you find yourself in a place of crushing, don’t lose heart. Something sacred is being produced in you. Keep trusting. Keep worshiping. Keep showing up.

Your oil is coming.
Your purpose is emerging.
Your anointing is being released.

The crushing is not your ending — it is your becoming.
